GLICO Group remains committed to fostering meaningful partnerships that drive innovation, empowerment, and transformation in Ghana’s corporate and educational sectors. In line with this commitment, the Group was honored to receive a high-level delegation from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) at its Head Office on Wednesday, 19th February 2025.

The delegation, led by Vice Chancellor, Professor John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, included senior executives from the university:

  • Professor Emmanuel Asamoah, Pro Vice Chancellor for Academic & Student Affairs
  • Professor Samuel Antwi, Pro Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation & Knowledge Transfer
  • Mrs. Lorraine Gyan, Registrar

The visit formed part of the Vice Chancellor’s broader initiative to engage key corporate stakeholders, discuss his vision for the university, and explore strategic collaborations that would bridge the gap between academia and industry.

The UPSA delegation was warmly welcomed by GLICO Group CEO, Mr. Edward Forkuo Kyei, along with the leadership team of GLICO’s member companies

Discussions centered around critical areas of mutual interest, including:
Collaboration, Empowerment, Innovation & Strategy, and Digital Transformation

GLICO Group has a long-standing tradition of supporting educational and professional development initiatives, making this engagement with UPSA a natural fit. The meeting set the stage for future collaborations in areas such as student internships, faculty research projects, executive training programs, and thought leadership forums.

Speaking at the meeting, Professor Mawutor emphasized the importance of corporate partnerships in shaping a dynamic and industry-relevant academic experience for students. He expressed his appreciation to GLICO Group for its warm reception and commitment to supporting education and professional growth.

In response, Mr. Forkuo Kyei reaffirmed GLICO’s readiness to work closely with UPSA to develop programs that benefit both students and the corporate world. “We believe that the synergy between education and industry is crucial for national development. GLICO is committed to playing a key role in bridging the gap between theory and practice to produce the next generation of professionals,” he stated.
