Amma Korantema Ansah is an inspiring human resource professional with over two decades of experience in the Ghanaian financial services sector. She has demonstrated success in building, sustaining, and transforming both multinational and domestic businesses.
She joins the company with extensive experience in human capital development and management, having held senior management positions in the HR function at Enterprise Group, Standard Chartered Bank, and Agricultural Development Bank. In addition, she worked with the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva on the In-focus Programme on Strengthening Social Dialogue.
She was the Lead Consultant of PEAK Resources Consulting before joining GLICO Group, as well as an International Facilitator and Coach with MCA Training International in South Africa.
Amma Korantema Ansah was named one of Africa's top 50 human resource leaders in 2020. She has an MSc in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management from the London School of Economics (LSE) in the United Kingdom, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Ghana. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Practitioner
Until his appointment as Group Head of Risk Management, Bright Abbey was the Manager in charge of Risk Management at the Internal Controls & Compliance (IC&C) Department.
Before joining GLICO Group Ltd. in 2015, Bright worked with local and international audit firms including Deloitte where he gained broad experience in auditing, enterprise risk management and internal controls. He played leading roles in providing audit and assurance services for clients within diverse sectors including insurance, manufacturing, mining and the public sector.
Mr. Abbey holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting Option) from the Valley View University, Ghana and a Post Graduate Degree in Finance from the University of Leicester, UK.
Vida Kyei is the Legal Officer serving the Company and its subsidiary companies.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B Hons) from the University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Development Studies (BA IDS) from the University for Development Studies, Tamale.
She was called to the Ghana Bar in 2014 having successfully obtained a Barrister at law certificate from the Ghana School of Law.
Her areas of specialty include commercial law, corporate law, investment law, land law and general litigation.
Prior to her joining GLICO, Vida Kyei worked with Ghana’s Attorney General’s Department, Center for Development Partnership and Beyond Aid.
Vida Kyei is currently the Company Secretary for GLICO General Insurance Company Limited, GLICO Life Insurance Company Limited, GLICO Healthcare Limited, GLICO Capital and GLICO Pensions Trustee Company Limited.
She is a member of the Ghana Bar Association.
Paul Asante Farkye is an Information Technology Professional with several years’ experience in Information Communication Technology (ICT).
He holds a BSc Information Technology from the Methodist University College, Ghana and a Diploma in Information Technology from Micap School of Applied Information Technology.
Paul joined GLICO as an IT Officer in May 2004 and has contributed immensely to the company’s information technology development over the years.
He has his specialization in Database Administration, Computer Networking, Web Technology as well as System Administration.
He was an important member of the ICT team that worked with an external consultant to develop a new state-of-the-art software for GLICO LIFE. His valuable contribution to the development and implementation of the new software was key to its success.
Prior to joining GLICO, he was the Head of IT at Women’s World Banking Ghana, a micro financial institution, from 2002 to 2004.
Kwaku Appah Hayase is a seasoned Software Engineer, who has developed several applications for insurance companies including the GLICO GROUP subsidiary companies, Samara Group, Adehyeman Savings And Loans Ltd and Shops (The Shoppe – Korle Bu and Finest Supermarket).
He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree in Computer Science from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi. He also has a certificate in Information System Security Audit. He has attended several Information Communication Technology related seminars, workshops and training programmes both in Ghana and abroad.
Prior to joining GLICO in 2010, Kwaku Appah worked with various companies including Airways Catering Ltd, Digital Links Systems and Samara Pharmacy Ltd as Software developer and ICT Consultant.
He has vast knowledge in computer networks and has implemented both Wide Area and Local Area Networks (WAN and LAN) for several companies. He is also very conversant with all the windows operating systems and can fully administer them. He has expertise in database management, installation and management of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Access, MySQL, configuring routers and developing windows interfaces with Visual Basic for other systems. He also has working knowledge in domains management, website development and mobile application development.
He was very instrumental in the development and implementation of new software for a number of the GLICO GROUP subsidiary companies, particularly GLICO GENERAL.
Christopher Sey, Chris as he is affectionately called, is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana).
He has a wide range of experience spanning accounting, audit and financial analysis. Christopher Sey has been with GLICO since 2008.
Before joining GLICO, Mr. Sey worked for PKF Accountants and Business Advisors, Ghana, for over fifteen years where he obtained vast experience handling a portfolio of clients including leading banks and other financial institutions, manufacturing, insurance and multinational companies.
His areas of expertise include accountancy, external & internal audit, control reviews, regulatory reviews, implementation of new accounting standards such as IFRS, compliance assistance and advice on regulatory matters and he brings these expertise to bear on the operations of GLICO.
Mr. Stephen Badu has over sixteen years experience in insurance and occupational pension schemes management. Before being elevated to his present position, he was the Chief Business Development Officer (Group Business) of GLICO Life Insurance Company (GLICO Life).
Having joined GLICO as a Management Trainee, he has, over the years, played major roles in the growth of the company. He was appointed the Underwriting Supervisor a couple of years after joining GLICO Life. The satisfactory performance of his duties as the Underwriting Supervisor resulted in the Company reposing more confidence in him and subsequently tasking him to manage the Group Business portfolio in addition to other supervisory roles.
He was recently elevated to the position of Executive Director (Business Development) at GLICO Group to bring his vast experience to bear on the growth of the various subsidiary companies of the Group.
Mr. Stephen Badu, who is also a lawyer by profession, holds a Bsc (Land Economy) from KNUST and MBA from GIMPA. He also possesses a Diploma and Advance Diploma certificates in Insurance. He also obtained his LL.B (First Class Hons.) from GIMPA and BL/QLC from the Ghana School of Law. He is a member of the Ghana Bar Association, International Bar Association and the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK).
Mr. Stephen Badu has also participated in major courses and seminars both locally and internationally to add on to his wealth of knowledge.
Mr. Forkuo Kyei is the Group Chief Executive officer GLICO Group Ltd and a chartered Insurer with over thirty years’ experience. Prior to his appointment as the Group CEO, he was the Managing Director of GLICO Life Insurance Company, the life insurance subsidiary of the Group for approximately ten years.
Having joined GLICO in 1992, he has played a pivotal role in the growth and success of the organization. He was instrumental in the establishment of most of the subsidiary companies under the Group and plays a key role in the growth of these companies.
Apart from being a Chartered Insurer and an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) he also holds MSc in Insurance & Risk Management from Cass Business School City University (UK) and MBA in Finance & Advance Strategic Management from the Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University (UK). Mr. Forkuo Kyei is a product of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) where he graduated with a BSc Development Planning degree.
Mr. Kyei is a practicing Christian. He serves on several company boards as well as boards of institutions and organizations including Liberty Centre Assemblies of God Church and the Assemblies of God University College
Mr. Kwame Achampong-Kyei is highly regarded as one of the most successful and astute entrepreneurs in Ghana. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (CIIG) and a Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), UK.
He is the Founder and Executive Chairman of GLICO Group., which is made up of GLICO Life Insurance Company, GLICO General Insurance Company, GLICO Healthcare, GLICO Pensions, GLICO Capital, GLICO Properties among others.
Mr. Kwame Achampong-Kyei worked with the reputable American Life in the United Kingdom for many years before returning to Ghana to pursue his dream of establishing a life insurance company with a vision of bringing life insurance to the doorstep of every Ghanaian household.
After founding Gemini Life Insurance Company (now GLICO LIFE), Mr. Kwame Achampong-Kyei exhibited remarkable business acumen to grow and develop GLICO to become a dominant brand of choice in Ghana. Apart from GLICO Group Ltd and its subsidiary companies, he also owns and has major stake in a number of other companies, which provide employment for hundreds of Ghanaians.
At the industry level, he was a Founding Member of the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA) and served as the General Secretary of the GIA for more twelve consecutive years. He was instrumental in initiating and assisting in the establishment of a number of industry code of practice. He was one of the major brains behind the establishment of an oil and gas consortium (now known as GOGIP) following the discovery of oil and gas in commercial quantities in Ghana.
Mr. Kwame Achampong-Kyei serves on several Boards and his remarkable achievements have been recognized both locally and internationally with a number of awards including the prestigious Marketing Man of the Year conferred on him by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) in 2008, Order of the Volta, (one of the highest national awards, conferred on him by President John Agyekum Kufuor in 2008), Honorary Doctorate Degree awarded by the Commonwealth University in 2015, the 2019 Entrepreneur of the Year among many others.
